The voluntary traineeship

The Voluntary Traineeship offers young people between the ages of 16 and 27 the opportunity for personal development through social commitment. Now at 11 locations in the Netherlands. In addition, the young people also follow training courses such as 'motivation & willpower', 'time management' and 'powerful communication'.
Partly to support their assignments at organizations. For a period of six months they will work for two or three different social organizations, for about 4 hours a week. We believe that every young person in his or her own way can mean something valuable to someone else, that they bring positive innovation and that you as an organization reap the benefits of this.

How do you qualify?
The following conditions are important in order for an organization to experience optimum benefit from youth efforts:
Are you ready for the youngsters?
What exactly does that mean?
- The trainee understands the importance of the assignment: who are they doing it for? What is the result?
- The assignment is challenging (not repetitive or focused on cleaning work)
- The assignment is clearly defined and in the long run offers more scope for personal input
- The trainee has affinity with the target group
- The assignment can be carried out at several times: during the week, in the evening and at the weekend
- New wishes can be dealt with flexibly during the assignment
- There is a cozy environment
- The organization is close to the trainee
- You want to learn from young people (receive feedback and take tips to heart)
You create an open atmosphere in the workplace
Get to know your trainees and create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In this way you make it fun for yourself and the trainees to work together.
You offer a clear & challenging assignment
The assignment has a head and a tail. You get together (briefly) every week and then go through the weekly assignment.
The trainee is busy for about 4 hours per week, for a period of 2 or 3 months.
E r is a single point of contact for the trainees
There is one contact person within your organization with whom we and the trainees communicate. There is regular contact. This is once a week with your trainees, and once every 3 weeks with the Traineeship contact person. You will be reimbursed for the coaching hours. If you are assigned trainees, you will supervise at least 2 trainees per period of 2 months.
You are present at meetings 3 times every six months
As a partner of the Voluntary Traineeship, you participate 3 times a year in a theme training incl. speaker (such as 'youth marketing & social media') and 3 times a year in an evaluation session with other placement partners. Experiences and tips & tricks are exchanged.
